The Mission of Wellhouse Ranch Ministries
Our mission is to bring healing, hope and well being to individuals, marriages and families through the compassionate integration of genuine faith with counseling, medicine, the arts, education and nature as a hospital for the human heart—honoring the life statement of Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Mother Teresa: “What we do, we do beautifully, for we do it for God.”
Our Purpose & Vision
Among our primary goals is to establish a Home of Hospitality, within an unspoiled part of Creation. This would be a place where we would host small groups, individuals and couples, offering our services in a non-institutional setting. We believe a true homelike atmosphere is one of the best environments for outreach and healing to those seeking our assistance. Please pray with us for the wisdom, guidance and open doors regarding the best choice of places for this unique home of love and hospitality.
The Benedictines have a beautiful commitment to this kind of compassion through hospitality: “All guests who present themselves are to be welcomed as Christ, for he Himself will say: I was a stranger and you welcomed me” (Matt 25:35).
Preparation for Living More Fulfilled Lives
We are committed to excellence in the treatment and healing of the whole person. Through the sensitive application of our mission statement, we provide a place of hope for those in pain, loss and grief. We also provide counseling, mentoring and educational services for those seeking a greater sense of well being as individuals, couples and families. We seek to provide preventive measures for those seeking personal growth, as well as healing for those in already existing pain or crisis. We are aware that classes and teachers within universities and high schools simply do not exist for in-depth preparation of individuals for marriage and family relationships or for living as single people within a world of increasing challenges and stress.
Why We Provide Service without Charge
The Historical Unmercenary Calling: Throughout history there have been what is known as “unmercenary” facilitators of God’s healing. Can you imagine Saint Luke, Mother Teresa, or others called to ministries of healing and compassion, freely given, ever asking for a payment plan or insurance card from those who sought their help?
Following the example of physicians and counselors throughout history who have served without charge or remuneration, Wellhouse serves equally the wealthy and the poor. People long for a place to go when they are hurting in heart or body; a place where they know they are loved and welcomed for who they are regardless of their financial or social status; a place where pain is not treated as a commodity and need is not viewed as a marketing objective; a place where the first question asked is not “May I please see your insurance card?” but “How may we serve you?” In serving without fees, Wellhouse seeks to provide this quality of understanding, compassion, and support.
The grandfather of Wellhouse founder was a physician, surgeon, and diagnostician who set a remarkable precedent for Wellhouse. The good doctor founded two hospitals and a nursing school in rural America. Keeping the doors of his hospital open throughout the Great Depression, he never turned anyone away because of an inability to pay.
For years, following the example of her grandfather, Ms. Anderson used her own resources to bring hope and healing to those from under-served rural communities in Idaho, Eastern Washington, Seattle, Montana and Wyoming in addition to both the wealthy and the poor equally in other areas of the world. She also served through four National Disaster hurricanes without charging fees for her outreach to many hurting people in crisis, grief and loss.
Someone once told me that not even for a million dollars would they touch a leper. I responded: “Neither would I. If it were a case of money, I would not even do it for two million. On the other hand, I do it gladly for love of God” (Mother Teresa).
Wellhouse Welcomes All
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings.
Nature’s peace will flow into you
as sunshine flows into trees.
The winds will blow their own freshness into you,
and the storms their energy,
while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.John Muir
We welcome those seeking our assistance without discrimination in any form, from every community and country of the world. With a legacy of unmercenary and unconditional love, we are committed to the compassionate treatment and renewal of the whole person. We serve as instruments in the healing of the human heart, restoring hope and well being.
